Artist's Comments

I found this really interesting for some reason. The lighting is completely natural too.

Well. Where to begin? This might be a strange place to start, but I'm noticing that the depth of field is a little on the shallow side. The wings fall gracefully out of focus, as does the ground, and the feet a little bit. This subtly forces the statue out of the frame at the viewer. There is very little perspective in this, but it gains dimension thanks for the DOF.

Composition: spot on.

The exposure is good. Nothing is really blown out, there is detail in the dark areas. The stone has a really nice texture, and I'm kind of in love with the range in color. The peaks of the stone, and the highlights are white, and than it falls into a gray, and than a darker gray, with a hint of green in the moss.

The title you chose was brilliant.

Very well done.

The lighting is awesome in my opinion, adds to the unnaturalness of an unnatural creature :D Gargoyles are a favorite of mine! :D It's as if he's covering his mouth in shock when the light hits him as he fades back into stone.

No prob, I really like gargoyles is all. There used to be this show on Disney and it had gargoyles and junk and...I sound pretty dumb, but eh, it's Sunday. Anyway, you're welcome.

I like it. I'm not one for gargoyles but it's a pretty decent shot. It's also cool that the gargoyle is off to the side a bit. Makes it more interesting.

BTW I love your sig. Awesome quote. :)

Of course! I had the movie, the game thing and I watched the series. It was more mature and dark at the time for a little kid to be watching. I understood it, especially one episode that kinda tackled racism and sexism...it was very deep and mature and I only wish cartoons were like that now, maybe then our kids wouldn't have to suffer intellectually

Cartoons, music, television shows and their mediocre and substantial plots...what does have substance nowadays? I miss the old days, things were different and I knew less but things were at their peak, creatively. Things aren't dry today, they're withered past death. :sigh: C'est la vie, I guess?
